Why do we need AAS?

The internet is not a technology revolution, it is a democratising revolution that is enabled by technology but fuelled by mankind's insatiable thirst for knowledge and the need to communicate.

We need the Accessibility Accreditation Scheme because:

  • Morally, denying access to all of the people cannot be justified.
  • Legally, the digital industry now has an obligation to give clients what they need within the scope of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
  • Successfully, achieving the maximum potential from the Internet whether it be the delivery of government services, community building, educating, or enhancing profitability.
  • Economically industry within the digital economy also needs to provide its clients with an assured procurement process to inspire confidence in their client's intention to buy. Making technology accessible stimulates more people to buy or join-in, not just those that may be affected by disability.
  • Socially, We can contribute to a better world, where knowledge is power but is accessible to all people.
