Ali al-Azzawi biography

Ali al-Azzawi is a board member of the AAP and plays a key role in its technology sub-group.

After graduating from Hull University in 1989 with a degree in Applied Physics (with laser technology!), Ali began his working career in academic research in the field of NMR/MRI at Oxford University. It was during this time that Ali was introduced to the web and Linux.

The next stage in his career took him literally around the world, working on the research, medical and industrial aspects of NMR/MRI as an electronic engineer, software engineer, physicist and project manager.

As well as a NLP Master Practitioner and NLP-Coach, Ali enjoys family life with his four young daughters, remembering with fondness those perilous days spent  gliding, flying light aircraft and yachting.

Ali al-Azzawi is the founder and Managing Director of Openia which specialises in providing IT solutions, Internet infrastructure & hosting based on open standards and open source technologies.
