Andrew Arch biography

Andrew Arch is one of the international contributors to the AAP bringing a broad non-UK perspective to the group's activities.

With over five years experience in the area of accessibility, Andrew is an acknowledged leader in this field in Australia. Andrew presents regularly on the issues of accessibility and runs an acclaimed series of Web Accessibility Workshops across Australia.

Andrew is an active member of the W3C WAI Education and Outlook Working Group and has contributed to many of their publications, including the Business Case for Web Accessibility and the various resources on Evaluating Web Accessibility. Andrew has also presented at WAI workshops in Europe.

Andrew's pre-web background is in agriculture, land degradation and natural resource economics, however he moved into information management in the early 1990s and established the first State Government intranet and the first Australian government thematic website.

When not at work, Andrew can often be found on a mountain bike and also enjoys cycle-touring.

Andrew currently works for Vision Australia, the largest provider of services to people who are blind or vision impaired in Australia.
