Katie Smith biography
Katie Smith was on the provisional board of the AAP and continues to contribute.
She woke up to the realities of accessibility in mid-2003 when it dawned on her that there was more to it than ticking the boxes in the government guidelines and that good design didn't have to be a compromise.
Before joining the Civil Service, Katie worked in publishing then marketing before realising that public sector websites were where it was at.
In her spare time Katie cycles, reads and makes cakes and is mum to a frighteningly computer-literate 7 year old.
Katie manages a UK central government website.
